Happy Place: Sketchy Scrappers Feb Sketch

As I was tidying up my desk before trying to pack for a crafty weekend away next week I realised I hadn't shared I layout I made a couple of weeks ago for Sketchy Scrappers. The February sketch was created by Sue.
I tend to struggle with sketches that use multiple photos as they either need to be printed smaller, which I never do, or need to photos you can trim down. I looked through my photos and found some of Port Meirion in Wales. We always stop by here when we go away which means I tend to take photos of the same thing each time so cutting them down from 6x4 to approx 3x3 didn't bother me.
I picked some papers from Shimelle, Heidi Swapp and Jen Hadfield which would pull the bright colours from the buildings. I used some diecuts from Heidi Swapp and Thickers from Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine for my title.
To recreate the banner on the sketch I used some tags I'd gotten for Christmas and decided to use these for journaling for something a little different.

100 Days of Happiness: week seven

Well I'm officially halfway through my 100 days of happiness challenge! I still can't believe I've managed to keep it up! So this was week seven.
The week started with a pretty envelope to pop in the post to a special birthday girl, I like to share a little bit of happiness. Tuesday was Valentine's Day and I was lucky to receive a lovely card and some chocies from Ian. Wednesday brought some happy mail with a payday order from Hey Little Magpie, granted it was ordered before payday but it arrived on payday so that counts right? Thursday was Slimming World and another maintain which I was happy with as I may have had a sneaky KFC on Valentine's Day!
On Friday another sign of spring appeared as it was still light when I got home at 5:30. On Saturday I finally got my hair done, I'm gradually going blonder and fingers crossed I may have found a hairdresser I like up here. Finally on Sunday I decided to try another recipe from the Slimming World magazine, Sausage and bean pasta bake. Admittedly it didn't taste fantastic but it looked nice and bright in the pan!

100 Days of Happiness: week 6

Another week of happiness has flown by. This was week 6.
The week started off with a gorgeous sunrise, it looked as though the fog had finally lifted. On Tuesday I was happy that I managed to find a parking space pretty quick at work as it meant I had time to do some reading before I had to go into work. On Wednesday the weather started to turn colder so I was happy to get home and put my slippers on, one downside to wearing flat shoes for work is cold feet if the ground is cold. As I worked a late shift on Tuesday I had to go to Slimming World on Thursday and was rewarded with a 2lb loss.
On Friday I only worked until 12pm so I went via TK Maxx on the way home and snapped up a couple of crafty bargains, even though I need paper like a hole in the head! On Saturday we were threatened to have a day of snow but luckily this was the only snow we had which was gone by lunchtime. Unfortionetly the snow came the next day with snow nearly all day but again it was gone by Monday. With Sunday being a snow day I managed to do some scrapping in the morning while watching Gotham on Netflix.

100 days of happiness week 5

Well we've made it to February and I'm still managing to keep up with my 100 days of happiness, whoop whoop! So this was week five.
On Monday I was on a very quiet late shift and I was grateful that I had planned ahead and put my kindle in my bag. Tuesday was Slimming World day with a maintain this week. Not going to lie I was pretty bummed by this but it's better than a gain and I managed to stock up from the shop too. Wednesday I was cheered up by Ian having a cup of tea waiting for me as I walked in the door, he's well trained! On Thursday I had my first early shift in ages so I was happy to be goin home in daylight for a change!
On Friday after having thick fog practically all week it was a lovely and refreshing change to see blue sky! On Saturday while Ian slept in I managed some morning scrapping while watching Sherlock on Netflix. Then on Sunday I was probably a bit too excited to finally find the Thins biscuits! Everyone in Slimming World have been raving about these as they are only 1.5 syns a biscuit!

Soaked

After finally managing to scrap last weekend my creative juices were back so I scrapped another quick layout yesterday morning while watching Sherlock on Netflix. Over on the Scrap Our Stashblog they have got a tic tac toe challenge going on. I love these challenges as all you do is pick a row, column or diagonal and make sure those items are in your layout.
It was a hard choice but I went for the diagonal line and used a doily, hearts and a tag to make this layout of Boo watering nanny and Grandad's pots. As you tell by the photos most of the water went over her rather than on the plants!
I used papers from Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection. One of the papers in the collection has cut apart tags, perfect for the challenge. For my hearts I used wood veneer hearts and some heart vellum. I had run out E's for my title so in the spirit of using up your stash I flipped a 3 and used this.
Make sure you pop over the blog, there's still time to enter.
