The reason I am a bike widow!

Its been a whole month since i last posted! I'm sorry the new shop I'm working in has opened and all is going great, my new bosses are lovely and we've had alot of positive feedback from customers. Anyway seems as its been a month it must be Sketch n Scrap time again!

This months sketch was set by Dee
I must admit I sat pondering this sketch for a long time as I'm not one for multi photo layouts, 2 photos tends to be my limit. The problem was trying to find a subject I had alot of photos of, then it hit me... BIKES! Ian is forever building up his bikes, riding them for a bit, taking oodles of pictures of them before dismantling them and moving onto the next. I am a bike widow!! I think if there was a fire some of the bikes would probably get saved before me lol! Anyway here is my layout...
I recently brought a grab box from Sarah's Cards which included a transparency sheet which I have never used before so used this for the circle. The sketch also gave me the opportunity to use my new Martha Stewart Bangle chain punch which reminded me of a bike chain.

Sketch & Scrap plus a sneaky one shh!

Its that time of the month again to upload our Lo's for the Sketch & Scrap challenge. This month we had this sketch to inspire us set by the lovely Sandra

Heres my interpretation of the sketch. The photo is of Buster after his busy afternoon playing with Ducky Poo. I also set myself a challenge to use old papers I've had since I started scrapbooking but have never used

Now for the sneaky one! I did a Lo at the wkend of one of my favorite pics of Ian when he was little. When I finished it though he insisted that it doesnt go onto UKS as he doesnt want everyone see him when he was little... so instead I'm going to post it here! Shh its a secret!

I got the idea of the photo mount from a Lo by Kirsty Maluga in an old issue of Scrapbook magazine which is where the free American Crafts papers also came from. Remember not a word!

Latest Purchases

I've been both good and bad lately. Good in the sense that I have resisted buying anymore stash, but bad in that I've been buying other things instead hehe!

First up are a couple of new additions to my Momiji doll collection. There is a new range out called the Book Club which these two belong to. Danielle "enjoys reading cook books and dreams of becoming a pastry chef", while Alex "enjoys reading about magic and predicting the future."

The other thing I brought is a new laptop bag. We've been looking for a new one for a little while, Ian wanted one with super cars on I said no, I wanted a Twilight Edward Cullen one he said no! So I was surprised when he agreed to this one ...

A Bon Jovi bag!!!!! I'm a happy bunny! x

Ducky Poo

Probably not the best choice of title but all will become clear later lol!

As I said in my last post I've recently joined the lovely ladies in Sketch & Scrap. Today is the first day of uploading our interpretations of this months sketch and here is mine..

The photos, which aren't great as they were taken on the Iphone, were taken during one of our walks in Wakerley Woods. There are a variety of different trees as you would expect with woods lol, and some places you could easily think you've gotten lost and ended up in Forks! The papers are a mixture of My Minds Eye papers I think, Jewelery Box thickers and trees from DCWV Green Stack.

Now back to the title. The inlaws have just come back from a week in the Lakes and while we got the usually box of biscuits Buster was given a new duck toy which he loves! Its a cuddly duck which squeeks when you squeeze it. He spent all of yesterday afternoon throwing it around the house trying to "kill" it. I tried to take a photo of him mid "kill" without success as he wouldnt stand still or you had to keep ducking (lol) as a duck flew over your head! I did manage to get this snap of him pooped on the sofa bless him!

A catch up

I've been having blog withdrawal symptons so thought I'd better post a catch up with you. The main thing which has happened since I last posted is that after chatting to a couple of friends who are doing it is that I've bitten the bullet and joined Weight Watchers! I originally did WW about 8 years ago after someone lent me their pack and I lost approx 2 stone. Then 6 years ago I moved onto Rosemary Connelly with my friend Kelly who was getting married and wanted to slim down, together we both lost another 2 1/2 stone and I was a nice 10 1/2 stone, a slim size 14 not quite a 12. Then I met Ian, became happy and contented and put the weight back on! Over the past year I've been trying to do my own healthy eating and exercise regime and have lost probably a stone but I needed a quick start! I joined WW last Tuesday with my brothers girlfriend and I have to say my weight wasnt as bad as I thought- 12st 8lb not great but not bad! My goal is to get back to 10 1/2 stone and look how I do on my passport photo and so far so good (touch wood) I had my first weigh in on Tuesday and have lost 2lbs!

The one problem which has come from dieting, in Ian's opinion not mine, is that I've been spending my money on crafty bits instead on chocolate etc! Over the past week I've brought 3 Martha Stewart punches (starburst circle, royal butterfly and cosmos), the Martha Stewart Cherish PATP, and have gone halves on the Xyron Design Runner with my mum! I wonder if there is a Craft Watchers I can join lol! I'll share a pic of my new goodies in my next post.

I've also joined the lovely ladies in the Sketch & Scrap group in UKS. Every month someone uploads a sketch for us to scrap and we upload our LO at the end of the month. I managed to do this months sketch over the weekend but will have to share it with you all next time once I've shared it with the group!

So thats just about been my week!

Vintage Birthday card

Next week is the in-laws birthdays, literally within a couple of days of each other how annoying! I was going to cheat this year and just buy cards for them especially as I dont having any stash to make men cards, shocking I know! I went out and brought a card for father in-law, a camper van one which looks as though I made it, and was going to do the same for mother in-law but Ian decided last night it would be nice to give her a Jesstar Design. So I've just made this ...
After Ian's valentines card I'm loving the idea of book pages for paper. This time I teamed it with some lovely vintage floral papers which came free with a mag to make bunting, the twine is recycled as it was tied around the material I brought yesterday! I think she'll like it...
