The Liberty Guard

I recently had a code courtesy of Mr McDonalds for 50 free prints from Snap Fish. So after my recent day out to London I ordered some prints which arrived the other day. I've heard mixed things about online photo ordering but I have to say I'm happy with the photos and the service was quick so I may use them again for batch printing and just use my Selphy for the occasions where I only want to print a couple of photos at a time.

Anyway enough of my waffling! This months sketch for the Tag-a-longs on UKS was set by yours truly. I chose this sketch from Nuts About Sketches

I picked two photos from the London trip taken outside of Liberty, grabbed my current Quirky Kit which has lots of floral papers perfect for Liberty (think Liberty fabric) and made this LO

I picked an Alison Kreft paper which is floral on one side and a ledger on the reverse for my background. The aqua paper is Teresa Collins, the floral Crate Paper, the pink paper is MME from my scraps bag. I used some MME Nostalgia die cuts in the clusters along with a flair badge from Buttons & Badges

The Thickers are my all time favourite Poolside font from American Crafts

A Wicked day in London

Yesterday after talking about going for at least four years, I went to London with my friend Nicola to go and see the show Wicked. We had a fantastic day which started with a quick look around St Pancras Station which is lovely and has the poshest temporary loos I've ever seen!

We then made our way across London to Liberty which is beautiful!

Then it was finally show time!

The show was amazing!! You definitely see the Elphaba the wicked witch of the west in a new light. There was a hen party where the bride was dressed as Glinda the Good and everyone else had witches hats on! I would definitely go again!

Make a Wish

Happy Mayday everyone, we're one step closer to summer! It also means time for another Sketchy Scrappers reveal. This months sketch was chosen by Sandra
For this I thought I would try a minimalist LO with a bit of white space, going out of my comfort zone slightly. So I reprinted my chosen photos to 3x3 and came up with this

The smaller scale works better for these photos as they are very dark. The photos were taken last Bonfire Night when we released our last Chinese Lantern and made a wish. I used white cardstock for my background and misted and flicked some Mister Hueys to make it less stark, for once I'm quite pleased with how it came out. The papers again came from my scraps and are MME, Carta Bella, ILS & Echo Park. The twine used on the bunting came from a Fat Face label.

I probably should have wished for a new car as I finally got mine back from the garage today and I'm now £280 lighter! Think we are definitely 150% not having a holiday now & will be living off beans on toast for a while but hey ho!
