Happy Birthday Poppa G!

Every year on Christmas Day my dad always reminds us it's exactly three weeks until his birthday, as if we can forget! As his birthday is at the start of the year he's one of the lucky ones who gets a card made rather than brought by me! For Christmas Gemma made me a fun stocking which included some cute moustache goodies so I put these to good use.
I used some moustache stamps and a wood tash from Gemma to make a topper for my card. I wanted to use a Kraft base so stamped the moustaches on a scrap of cream card using Pumice Stone distress ink, I then used this ink to ink the edges of all my papers. Speaking of papers, I used papers from Pink Paislee solstice collection and a scrap of navy dotted Swiss card from Bazzill. I finished using some twine Gemma also gifted me.

Winter Scavenger Hunt Catch Up

Just a quick post to share some recent finds on my Winter Photo scavenger hunt. Yes I'm still doing it, I've impressed myself as I've normally forgotten/given up by now! So without further ado:

3- Outside Lighting: I knew what I wanted to take a photo of as soon as I saw this. Every year we go for a drive around the area admiring everyone's Christmas lights and the first stop is always this house
They've gotten bigger every year and now have a collection box for a local charity due to the number of people who stop by for a look

8- Wreath: another nice easy one. There were so many wreaths to choose from on people's doors but this one took my fancy

6- a puddle: safe to say there have been plenty of these around this winter. This one was more like a mini lake on the footpath at the woods yesterday.

Just B U: Challenge Yourself #25

Happy New Year!!! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. The New Year brings a new Challenge over on the Challenge YOUrself blog, and this month it's a nice easy challenge to ease you into the swing of things gradually. Basically Anything Goes!

I decided to try something different and had a play with my paints and made this layout
There's no story or meaning to the layout other than to not worry about what other people think and be yourself!

I randomly painted some Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry distress paint onton some Heidi Swapp paper and layered a scrap of Studio Calico paper and two cut aparts from Kesi Art on top. During my trip to Milton Keynes with Gemma I brought a pack of wooden Flamingoes from Paperchase and used one of these and the twine from the packaging to embellish. I used American Crafts Thickers for my title but didn't quite have enough letters so had to improvise!

Make sure you pop over the the Challenge YOUrself blog for the other amazing layouts from the design team, why not join in with the challenge while you're there too!
