Bucket List: Challenge YOUrself Challenge #16

Welcome to another new month! Hopefully now winter has gone and spring is on its way. With a new month comes a new Challenge YOUrself challenge, and this month the challenge is to scrap your bucket list.
I hid my bucket list in the Kraft envelope
I'm back loving Kraft cardstock on layouts again at the moment after loving it, buying lots of it and then never using it! I used papers from Studio Calico Wanderlust collection, how lush is that wood plank paper? I'd seen on Pinterest and YouTube layouts using this large triangle design and decided to give it a go, and i have to say I like it!
The Kraft envelope I'd had in my stash for a while after receiving it in a grab box. I had to jazz it a bit with Washi as I felt it was getting lost slightly in the background and also to help the title stand out more and be grounded.
The top corner i embellished with some odd bits sat on my desk just to use them up before they got lost!

So what's on your bucket list? Pop over to Challenge YOUrself and share yours with us!

Couple of Card Shares

Remember last year, I was taking part in the 52 Card a year challenge to get me using my stash and to get better at card making? Well I failed at that after a couple of months, lol! I got behind on the prompts due to life, etc and eventually gave up. I still want to make cards where I can for friends & family but I'm taking a more relaxed approach, just making them when I can and if I do need a card in a hurry I have some Phoenix Cards in a box on standby. I'm not going to feel guilty for sending a ready made card either, as soon as people know you craft it's almost like they expect to get a handmade card rather than a shop brought card.

But saying all that I have made two cards recently. This first one I made for my friend & work colleague. We both found out after Christmas that we were going to lose our jobs as the shop is closing and have both been on the job hunt since. Last week she had an interview at a local travel firm and got a job and while I was obviously very happy for her the old green eyed monster arose and I said a couple of off the cuff not nice remarks, so I made her a little card to say sorry and how happy I was for her
I used papers and a die cut sentiment from Pebbles.

This next card is for my friends daughters birthday next week.
I used papers and a project life card from Dear Lizzy's Daydreamer collection. The little girl who appears in this collection is very cute but I couldn't see me using her on a layout but she's perfect for an 8yr old little girl. I don't do project life but i find the cards great for layering on layouts or as toppers on cards.

I am... Challenge YOUrself Challenge #15

Welcome to another Challenge YOUrself challenge. This months challenge asks us to use this colour combination
And to use the the saying I am... either in our title or journaling.

I started by looking at the colour scheme and thinking about what I had in my stash to compliment it, then looked through my photos to see what would go with these. After doing this I made this layout
This photo is of my mum and I a few years back at my Sister Inlaw's hen night. I felt it sat well with the chosen colours thanks to the pink balloon and fairy wings. I am definitely my mother's daughter as we both sound the same on phone, both have a love for Bon Jovi, both got up to *cough* naughty exploits when we were younger and it was my mum who got me into Scrapbooking after watching a craft show on a shopping channel with her.

My two main background papers are from Studio Calico Wanderlust, and my layering papers are from Amy Tangerine Plus One. The colours in the Plus One collection matched this challenge perfectly but unfortionetly I only had the 6x6 pad and not the 12x12 pad so I will have to add that to my shopping list sometime! For my title I used letter stickers from Elle's Studio and Amy Tangerine glitter Thickers.
Hope over to the blog now and check out more fab layouts from my fellow design team members. I look forward to seeing your layouts x
