Friends

So last week one door closed ready for another one to open. The past couple of months haven't been the best and it's times like these where you realise who your true friends are. They are the ones who you can turn to and chat about most things too, you can vent to about anything and everything, and will send you random replies and words of wisdom to make you smile when you're feeling down ("just keep telling yourself prison cell grey doesn't suit me"). And I have to say I'm lucky, or mad enough, to have a group of friends who do exactly that!

Soppy stuff over back to the scrapping lol! At the start of the month I set myself and Gemma a challenge to use this sketch with the added twist of having to use brads after "rediscovering" mine during a tidy up!
I recently purchased some papers from Dear Lizzy's Serendipity line and used them to make this layout.
I also used the Thickers from the same range along with some Studio Calico butterflies, a Heidi Swapp bow and a die cut from Pink Paislee. I added my brads along the top after admittedly nearly forgetting about them!

Meadow Barn Layouts 2015: Part 2

Back again to share the last of the layouts I made at Meadow Barn. First up one of Rodgie. I took this photo one morning after making the bed, I looked over and he looked as though he playing Peekaboo under the sheets
I used a B-Side of a Fancy Pants paper for a Kraft background, the A-side was large numbers which I wouldn't have used. The papers, project life card & photo overlay are all Maggie Holmes; the stars are Studio Calico and the Alphas are Elle's Studio

This next layout is of Boo last summer. My brother sent me this photo of her rocking out to Metallica at Glastonbury, apparently she was really getting into it, that's our girl!
I used a star mask with some Heidi Swapp gold mist to add some interest to the background. The papers are all Pebbles; embellishments are from Heidi Swapp and Pink Paislee

The final layout I made over the weekend was of me having a Butterbeer at the Harry Potter studios. Let's just say it was an experience, it tasted of Cream Soda with cream on top, it wasn't nice!
I used papers from Crate Paper The Pier collection. For the title I robbed Gemma's stash for wood veneer and Thickers!

Meadow Barn 2015 Layouts Part 1

I can't believe it's more or less two weeks since I went on my scrappy weekend to Meadow Barn! Guess that means I should share the layouts I made that weekend! I did mean to do this sooner but life got in the way as it was back to reality, and then last weekend I dropped my phone and smashed the screen so I had to go 24hrs phoneless while I waited for a replacement to arrive (thank god for insurance!)

The first layout I made at Meadow Barn was this
I used some Heidi Swapp papers i picked up in TK Maxx before I set off. I love how the black & white paper matches my dress in the photo! I used Heidi Swapp acetate bits and some Recollections stickers to embellish.

This next layout also used these papers this time punched into lots of circles
I punched the circles to replicate the circles in the photo. I used cardstock from Stampin Up which is soooo lovely and smooth, I definitely think I'll be investing in some more!

This layout is another for my Harry Potter album, I love Nic's face in the photo!
This time I used papers from Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection.

Sketchy Scrappers Catch Up

It's hard to believe that this time last week I was settled, chilling out and scrapping with my friends at Meadow Barn. As Gemma said earlier it feels like a month ago but at the same time the week has flown by! Meadow Barn was full of the same laughs which I cannot and will not share here (what happens at the barn stays at the barn), but needless to say it was just what the doctor ordered for all of us, and lots of tears were shed from the laughing we did as all the stresses from the past couple of months disappeared.

Scrapping wise I managed 8 layouts which I was pleased with, including catching up with the last two Sketchy Scrappers sketches. Firstly I tackled this sketch set by Karen for February.
I decided to rotate the sketch onto its side and made this layout
I used papers from Heidi Swapp which I picked up from TK Maxx before we set off on Friday. I then used some bits from a Heidi Swapp emphemera pack and replaced the Santa on the sketch with a camera from an Amy Tangerine cut apart.
The second sketch I tackled was this months sketch set by Gemma
I loved this sketch and originally thought I'd use a doily for the circle element, but stupidly I left my box with my doilies in at home. I don't know how I coped but I did lol! Anyway this is the layout I made
This photo is from Boo's birthday party during the 30 seconds she kept her party hat on for! While in TK Maxx I also picked up some Maggie Holmes Styleboard papers which I used here along with papers from her Flea Market collection. I also used some project life cards from the Styleboard collection as embellishments.

Bear Hug

Every now and then, mainly when we remember lol, myself and Gemma set a scrappy challenge for both of us. This time around it was Gemma's turn to be challenge setter. She chose this sketch and to use something blue
I decided to scrap a photo from December 2013 when Nicola & I went to London to do a spot of Christmas shopping. This photo was taken in Hamley's which as you can imagine was packed!
I used papers from Recollections. For my blue element I used blue doilies and a blue flair.
